Since January 2015, I've used the beginning of a new year as time to fast for both spiritual growth as well as discipline in terms of food (after the holidays, I tend to go berserk on sweets and salts). What better way to start the year? But I don't do just any fast. For 21 days every January, I do the Daniel Fast, which encourages you to eat mostly fruits, vegetables and nuts. No meat! The fast that I was introduced to in my old church allowed fish for the sake of having a consistent protein. I eat some every few days and focus on quinoa bases, soups, salads, baked and roasted plantains the other days. It's during the moments when I realize I've moved past the hump that is the first few days that I wonder if I could become a pescatarian and really clean out my system.
Probably not. If I'm being completely honest, I just can't do without chicken and turkey for more than 21 days. But I do think it's cool how many stars have tried a pescatarian diet or are currently pescatarian. It's more people than you think. But here are at least 10 you probably know:

Cam Newton

In March 2015, Cam Newton became a pescatarian . He told ESPN that he hopped on the diet to test his discipline.
"I try to challenge myself off the field or out of training to test my discipline -- each and every month, from not eating solid food throughout the week to not eating bread or only eating water," he told reporters that same year. "Ever since I gave up the meat ... I like it. I like the way I was feeling. I stuck with it ever since."
