When it comes to parenting, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have always made it clear that they allow their children to be free, particularly in terms of freedom of expression. But they’ve taken freedom to the next level by allowing Willow and Jaden, 16 and 18, to move out of the family home.
In a new interview with Haute Living, Jada revealed that Jaden and Willow, who have pretty busy lives juggling music, modeling and acting opportunities (Jaden is away in Toronto filming Life in a Year with model Cara Delevingne and Cuba Gooding Jr.), have flown the nest. However, they’ve found their own digs less than 10 minutes away. And while they all agreed on taking this step, the kids are still very much attached to their parents.
“It’s funny,” the 45-year-old Girls’ Trip star said, “they’re not around, but they are!”
She continued, “I don’t even have time to miss them! Willow loves to call me every day, and even Jaden, when he’s away on set, still needs to see Will and I when he gets homesick.”
No matter how far away the talented twosome go, they still do a lot with their famous parents. You can see the family vacationing together and attending events around the world pretty often. And we know Willow and Jada are front row fashion show favorites. But whatever they all choose to do together, Will, Jada, Trey, Jaden and Willow, they value that time since they’re all incredibly busy.
As Jada told the Huffington Post last year, “Everybody works so when we come together, we’re focusing on each other. We really cherish the time we have together.”
