I can’t stand the type of people who try to make you feel bad or inferior for missing out a moment they deem “once in a lifetime.” So I’m not here to shame folks who were unable to catch Broadway’s revival of Alice Walker’s <i>The Color Purple </i>before the show ended its run last night.

What I do want to do is show you <i>how </i>they ended it, giving praise and honor to God. After the final curtain call and the actors honored the special guests in the room, a couple of them being the Clinton’s if my eyes didn’t deceive me, they sang “Total Praise.” Any church-going, Black Christian knows this song and the feelings of reflection and gratitude it produces from the very first sound of the word “Lord…”
